So what is the Event Community? It is a mix of all things event fundraising from a serious perspective. News and information, take-aways to make your event more successful from auctioneers, event coordinators, consultants and technical professionals. Blogs with great information from the staff and extended family of Northwest Software and Forums that allow you to communicate and exchange with others who also work hard to put on a first class event.
And we have not forgotten about our community of Tracker-Series end-users either! The community continues to provide a series of secured forums specific to supporting the Tracker-Series application suite.
So how did this site evolve? Over the past year we have observed several attempts at creating social media sites that try to discuss various aspects of event fundraising, only to find that they quickly move off topic and their intent became lost in personal conversation. At the same time, our user community continued to make inquires about access to content that would help them in their efforts. So in April, we decided to mix the two and open up a community for the serious minded event fundraisers focusing on the process of making events successful.
While we will begin the discussions with auctions, the event community is not just about them. Northwest Software is the ONLY software publisher that publishes applications to manage all four of the core event fundraisers held in the United States and Canada. Other applications include A’Thon-Tracker, Banquet-Tracker and Tournament-Tracker. Benefit auctions are popular, but not the sole source of event fundraising revenue. The economic downturn sparked a return to these grass root event fundraisers because many found that they are actually less expensive to produce.
That will depend on the community. Submit your ideas, firstname.lastname@example.org! We have several ideas that are still in the planning stages. RSS Feeds, and additional Communicate & Exchange boards are among the additions being worked on now.
Again, this community is not just for Tracker-Series users but the international event fundraising community as a whole. Participate! Do you have an article of interest that you would like to share with others? Contributing is easy. Submit your article(s) via email to email@example.com.
